Following a stint on London's West End, a UK tour and spot at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Kempner is bringing his hilarious one-man show to the US. It's not only for those ardent fans of Downton Abbey; the production serves as both an introduction and guide to the TV show for those who've not yet fallen for the craze.
Described as the "Energizer Bunny of Impressionists", Kempner imbues his show with herculean amounts of energy as he flits back and forth between a myriad characters. When he launches into a scene, no holds barred, its easy to suspend your disbelief long enough to believe a moment at the Downton household is unfolding before your very eyes! It is most certainly a light-hearted affair, yet underlying the perpetual mirth lies a precisely timed and well executed performance. Watched by an international audience of approximately 120 million people, Kempner courageously takes on the global phenomenon that is Downton Abbey and the result is triumphant and hysterical.
Shock and horror, Downtown Abbey faces financial ruin again! Set in Edwardian-era England, Kempner mimics over 30 Downton characters as they interact and try to save their home, with hilarious results. The show quickly becomes what can only be described as 'Downton meets Reality TV' when celebrity guests show up to aid the colourful menagerie of servants and aristocrats.
